Replace Lost Teeth with Bridges & Dentures
Losing or extracting a tooth can be devastating to your oral health over time, but it doesn’t have to be. By replacing missing teeth, you can avoid many of the consequences of tooth loss, including increased risks to the healthy teeth that remain. Using advanced materials, like lifelike dental porcelain, Dr. Criss can craft a dental bridge or denture to rebuild your smile with highly-realistic results.
A dental bridge is made with one, two, or up to three adjacent replacement teeth (known as pontics) that are supported by dental crowns on each side of the bridge. The crowns are bonded to the healthy teeth that border the gap in your smile, and hold the bridge steady as you bite, chew, speak, and smile.
Dentures can be crafted as partial or complete, depending on the extent of your tooth loss. Partial dentures are designed to fit between and around the healthy teeth that remain, while complete dentures replace an entire row of missing teeth. Each consists of a comfortable, gum-colored plastic base, though partials may also include small hidden clasps for additional support.
